A Beautiful Package

I haven't been sick in a long time. But yesterday, while in cycle class, a woman next to me decided to continuously hack her lungs out--all over me. No doubt, she's the culprit for my swollen glands today. I predict, however, my warrior type immune system shall conquer all evil ick germs by tomorrow. My point is, I was a bit down today.

There came a cure by way of UPS dude. He rang the bell and, fortunately, ran away to his brown escape mobile before I opened the door. I stayed hidden until he zoomed down the road because my fuzzy snowflake pajamas and pink princess slippers most likely would have embarrassed him. When the coast was clear, I snatched the beautiful package from the step.

I didn't think it would be such a big deal. Maybe it was all the stress of things built up. Indie authors are the hardest working authors. Seriously. I've found this to be a fact. Maybe it was the ick pulsating through my veins. Maybe it was the eighteen months of sweat and tears and hope and fear and frustration and rejection, rejection, rejection involved in writing this novel. Whatever the reason, holding my real-live novel for the first time... Wow.

Now the hard part begins. Next Monday I'll ask for your help with getting Autumn's story known to the world. Until then, peace out, friends.

Indie Authors Relief Fund

There's this great thing happening all over the world. People are raising money to help the people of Japan get back on their feet. One particular group is the Indie Author Relief Fund where authors have donated books and services in order to raise funds for this cause. You can help, too, by taking a moment to check it out and bid on an item.

The Soulkeepers by G.P. Ching

The Soulkeepers, a YA novel by G.P. Ching, has been released! To celebrate, the author will be posting excerpts of the novel and an insiders look on how she came up with the idea for the novel. On Saturday, learn how you can win an iTunes gift card and a copy of the book.

Join the celebration and learn more about this awesome book at G.P. Ching's blog.

About:

When fifteen-year-old Jacob Lau is pulled from the crumpled remains of his mother's car, no one can explain why he was driving or why the police can't find his mother's body. Made a ward of his uncle and thousands of miles from home, Jacob's life feels out of control.

A beautiful and mysterious neighbor, Dr. Abigail Silva, offers to use her unique abilities to help him find his mom. In exchange, she requires Jacob to train as a Soulkeeper, the biologically gifted warrior she swears he is.

He agrees to her demands, desperate for any clue to the mystery of his mother's disappearance. But soon Jacob finds himself trapped in a web of half-truths, and questions Dr. Silva's motives for helping him.

A Chapter A Day and Goodreads

I've been a prude when it comes to my writing. Nobody outside of my critique group, editor, family, a few beta readers and a couple of friends have ever read my novels. There are two reasons for this. The first, most of my work never seems to be finished enough to share with strangers. The second is because I've always felt that giving away stories for free makes me feel like I don't hold any worth toward them. When in reality, my stories mean a lot to me.

It's a good feeling to finally get Dream Smashers out into the world. It's a story, I believe, that many teens may benefit from. So in the spirit of sharing and to give the reader a taste of my writing since this is my debut novel, I'll be giving a chapter away until the end of March. Then on April 4th, Dream Smashers will be available for purchase via eBook and paperback.

If you'd like to read, please click here: Angela's Wattpad  Also, when you are finished reading, please vote on my work so more readers will be exposed to it. Thanks bunches!

I've also been playing around with Goodreads. If you are on Goodreads, please visit me and be my friend. Because I heard that it's cool to be on Goodreads and to have friends.

Thanks!

Have a good night. Peace out for now.

DarkSide Publishing and Creating a Book Trailer and Pimpin' Books

It seems my blog is always the last to be informed of things lately. Well, to keep with this trend, and in case the blog didn't see my Facebook and Twitter announcements, I'm now a partner with DarkSide Publishing. They have been extremely helpful and are all excellent writers. I'm so excited and couldn't be happier about publishing Dream Smashers with DarkSide in April. I'm hoping it will be ready earlier, but these things can't be rushed. Please stay tuned for further announcements.

That's the old news. The new news is: I made a book trailer today. It took the ENTIRE day. Oh my! Now I know why people have professionals do these things. My brain is fried. Once the book cover is ready, I'll post it along with the trailer. So cool!

Speaking of trailers. Check out this new trailer for G.P. Ching's new book The Soulkeepers. It's awesome!

I'm also trying to figure out how to use Goodreads. I'm probably the only one on the planet who doesn't know how to use it, but I'll get there. Let me know if you use it and I'll be your friend and stuff--or whatever it is people do on Goodreads.

I'm currently reading a book by an author from DarkSide: Anathema by Megg Jensen If you haven't read it, you should check it out. I'm enjoying it! Also, check out Megg's blog (link above) because she is holding a contest right now and you could possibly win a new Kindle or a Nook.

You might also want to read another DarkSide author's book, Into the Shadows by Karly Kirkpatrick.  I haven't read it yet, but it's up next on my Kindle.

That's about it for now. Good night and peace out for now.
